COPD is a leading cause of death around the world, and exacerbations of COPD (ECOPDs) account for one of the highest rates of hospital admissions among all major chronic illnesses. The optimal management of COPD includes a combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. With the rapid developments in technology and monumental forces such as the COVID-19 pandemic, exciting innovations and opportunities in COPD management are emerging.
At the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to:
- Review the latest recommendations for the management of COPD
- Summarize the latest definition and classification for exacerbations of COPD (ECOPD)
- Appreciate the potential role that emerging technology can play in the management of COPD and identify the ‘pressures and forces’ which supported these innovations.
