It might seem curious to consider entrusting the ventilation to machines. Do not be mistaken, there is no question here of replacing the human and clinical reasoning with blind and relentless algorithms. The next challenges are to test the generalization of these systems into clinical practice and to define the characteristics of the populations which might benefit the most.
