Assemblies & Working Groups
Assemblies
The CTS has a wide range of Clinical Assemblies that allow members to engage in the development of:
- Evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and knowledge translation tools
- Position statements and standards
- Educational programs and advocacy initiatives
The Assembly Model was revised in 2018 to create more a representative steering committee structure and to increase member engagement.

Working Groups
Working Groups report to the CTS Executive directly. Working Groups are time-specific, interest-based groups that members can join. Working Groups may partake in multiple activities such as conducting webinars, developing position statements, and/or guidelines, etc.
- Working Groups may choose to meet for a specific goal or to gain knowledge in a specific topic area under an Assembly
- Identify learning gaps in specific disease categories and
- Address assembly

Dr. Liak obtained her medical degree from Queen’s University in 2012. She completed her Internal Medicine residency in 2015, and Respiratory Medicine fellowship in 2017, both at Queen’s University, followed by a fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Western University in London, Ontario. She was welcomed on faculty as an Assistant Professor in the summer of 2019.

Dr. Haley Fishman is a pediatric respirologist currently practicing at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. Following a fellowship in pediatric respirology at the Hospital for Sick Children, she completed a clinical subspecialty fellowship in sleep medicine and home ventilation at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and a Masters of Science in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the University of Toronto. Her clinical and research interests include strategies to improve the efficiency and accessibility of care for patients with sleep-disordered breathing and respiratory sequelae of neuromuscular diseases.
