Waterloo Regional Health Network
The Kitchener-Waterloo Respirology team is comprised of a collegial group that participates in both in-patient work through the Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) and out-patient work through personal and WRHN-based clinics. Our in-patient work in supported by 2 excellent NPs, where we take turns covering the Chest Ward as MRP at WRHN at Queen’s. We have a step-down unit for NIV and more acute patients in addition to the ward patients that we manage. There is access to bronchoscopy for both in-patients and outpatients. We have IP specialists that provide EBUS expertise. We share a floor with our Thoracic surgery colleagues. We run a consult service at both hospital sites (WRHN @ Queen’s and Midtown), providing ample exposure to a multitude of clinical presentations. WHRN has a variety of hospital-based clinics that our members partake in, including LDAP, MPE clinic, CF, ILD, and Long-term Vent Clinic. We also work at the local Region of Waterloo TB clinic. A Lung Cancer screening clinic is currently being developed.
